I am a young and thriving 21 year old female. I started this trek towards becoming a firefighter in May 2009. It has been a quick and exciting journey. I am currently an explorer for Battalion 8 at Station 28 in Uptown Whittier. I volunteer for the Red Cross at the Rio Hondo Chapter. I am a part of Class 75 for the fire academy at Rio Hondo College beginning July 12, 2010. I hope that this blog will be eye opening and maybe someday helpful for other female future firefighters. I hope you enjoy reading of my adventures and thoughts on this journey of becoming a firefighter.
